Thanks Craig I think Victoria - and the rest of the country has seen enough devastation from fires over the last few years and the land and our wonderful fire fighters deserve a break. But to hope that the crazies will not be out striking their matches this year would be wishful thinking! But..... I am an optimist! So fingers crossed!

Thank you for your kinds wishes, have a safe one,

Hi Palmina, great idea!!! (But let it be our secret) Then I will fill it with Champers...and I will tell her a story about Australia, where Kangaroos are knocking at peoples doors for getting some food and a man with a snake around his arms opens the door...all the parrots in the garden, waiting for some bowls of nice food, look up to sky where a woman is jumping down from 10000 meters for getting a nice hairstyling and taking some shots of the "panoramio-people" looking this... Greetings from Germany artx

mossip you are very welcome. I would put anther shrimp on the barbie, but we never have one. My husband, even after 27 years in Oz, has never quite managed to get the hang of the barbie and with the bush fire season upon us, it would be foolhardy to try! Enjoy the crackling of that fire! You lucky thing!

Dick thanks you very much for the comments, and your kind return wishes,

Palmina, very nice idea!

I wondered what holidays you could mean, until I had a closer look and really, it's for Christmas. I don't want to think about it, until when it's really near. I dread it, maybe because it's my birthday as well on the 25th of December, which didn't make me happy at all as a child. I am glad, when it's over and when life gets on its usual way again.

Of course I wish you and everybody else a nice holiday as well! :)

I hope your flu is over.

My best wishes, May

Palmina Moore, on November 17, 2007, said:

Anne & May I know it's very early but I needed a distraction from the flu to keep me busy. Yes I am feeling much better now. I've just told inessa that I have a heep of ironing, dusting & housework to do this afternoon, so I can't quite decide if I'M REALLY better (maybe one more day???).

It must be awful having your Birthday on Christmas day! I think I would feel cheated! My niece has hers on 13th December and I know she doesn't like people lumping her gifts together.

We don't do the big Christmas celebration with the tree and everything as there is just the two of us, all our family is still in England and it just doesn't seem the same, especially when it's too hot instead of a nice cover of snow. We did do the turkey, pork and all the trimmings for a time but the sweat just diluted the gravy!!! so now it is just salads or we go out for a drive and picnic. I miss the whole family thing.

Thank you both, Palmina

inessa.ie, on November 18, 2007, said:

Hi Palmina, did you know that the ironing can wait?;)... Don't put yourself under pressure after your illness.

My best wishes to Lulu!

Palmina Moore, on November 18, 2007, said:

And it will inessa It's going tobe 37C today, so no ironing for me.

This is a great idea Palmina! You are so creative! The composition of the photo is great, and your handwriting is beautiful (I can't say the same for mine...).

You mentioned that you and Kevin just celebrated your 29th anniversary. Well, my husband Tom and I just had our 31st in September. I can't believe I stayed with the same man that long!! ;-) LOL!!

Thanks for the wonderful Christmas greetings and I wish you and Kevin the same. :):):)

Best regards, DeEtte

Palmina Moore, on December 1, 2007, said:

Hi DeEtte I reckon the only reason I've stayed with him so long is that he worked nights for 15 years so I never saw him!!!!

Congrats on your 31 years!

Christmas Greetings from Sydney, Palmina. I join with all the network in thanking you for your greetings and creative way of communicating. And also congratulations to both you and Kevin - may the sentence be a life sentence! You might be separated from most of your family this Christmas but you are part of a wide network of Panoramio friends. Love and blessings, Ian & Margaret.

Palmina Moore, on December 1, 2007, said:

Hi Ian thanks for the nice return greetings.

You would think after 27 years in Oz, we would be used to Christmas' without family but it's certainly a sad time of year in one respect. We only have our furry children and although it's fun watching them rip open their pressies, it doesn't make up for seeing the family faces opening theirs. I have a niece and two nephews I've never met and missed all of their childhood years. We were lucky enough to have my family here a few Christmas' ago and I met my sister's child for the first time. That was wonderful!! I miss the big family meal, then everyone falling asleep, snoring then waking up for The Queens speech, then starting all over again with the food!

We are blessed with many great friends here from all walks of life so we are never short of company and somewhere to go.

I do miss the cold at Christmas though. It's not much fun sweating and diluting the gravy on your Christmas dinner!

Love and best wishes for a great Christmas and the coming year to you and Margaret

I’m going to Milan on Tuesday for a couple of days so it will be interesting to see what, if any, Christmas decorations they have in the city.

Palmina Moore, on December 2, 2007, said:

inessa & Billy a rainy Christmas would be most welcome, it's a done deal.....we'll swap 23rd December for 4 days!!!

I woke up in the early hours this morning to the glorious sound of rain falling. It is a reprieve for the poor gardens but it had it's downside.

For the past 4 years I have tumbled dried everything 'cause I took my clothes line down (the sap from a tree next door marked everything). It was getting ridiculously expensive as I wash towels everyday - for the dogs. I put a clothes line back up on Saturday and had a great washing day, everything in sight was washed and hung out. (- p.s. it only takes about 5 minutes to dry a towel in summer). I left a big quilt hanging out when I went to bed last night and you can guess the rest. I have finally found out how to break the drought!!!!! ........hang out washing!!!!!

Billy I hope you have a great time in Milan, business or pleasure? See.... I can be nosey too!

Love to both of you, Palmina

Billy B@rk, on December 2, 2007, said:

I almost hesitate to tell why I’m going! I’m going all that way to watch a soccer match. The day after that I hope to have at least half a day to sightsee so hopefully I’ll get a few photos. Milan has the 3rd largest cathedral in the world so I can’t wait to see that.

inessa.ie, on December 2, 2007, said:

Palmina, your washing routine sounds like music... five minutes... But i am happy you agree to swop for at least four days!
