No filters on the lens, just a UV. But I think I did run it through HDR software, though it was a long time ago so I'm not sure.

That is the smokestack from the Enwave steam generating plant on Pearl Street, part of their district heating system. They generate steam with natural gas fired boilers at Pearl, which is then piped to various buildings to heat them. The emmissions include all the usual ones you get from burning natural gas and there are definite air quality issues involved. And in Enwave's defence, they do already use high efficiency/low emission boilers. Just not the ultra low emission ones they are promising to switch to.
