Constructed in 1909

The Central fire station was the fourth fire brigade opened in 1909 to deal with increase fire occurrence in the crowded town area. The design include garage space for the first motorized fire engines, staff quarters, time saving device and a watch tower.

Today, it is the oldest functioning fire station providing fire-fight and rescue coverage for the Central Business District. The oldest part of the building has been converted to a Heritage Gallery for the public.
