The recent slideshow is very interesting, Keith, and I have spent the morning cuppa wandering the sunny street scenes. I am guessing that this was very early in the day, as there is no trace of humanity, people, cars, litter, etc, just a beautiful sense of peace and tranquility. I particularly like this one because of the contrasting sun and shade, with the shaded side of the street lit softly by the reflected sunny side. the focal point is a very handsome piece of archutecture, and I love the streetlamp silhouettedagainst the sky. Full marks! Theolfa

Thanks Theolfa. It was a Sunday afternoon stroll around Blyth in order to run off a roll of film in a newly acquired old camera. That handsome piece of architecture is our local police station. The camera is totally manual and the exposures were calculated using the sunny 16s method and I was delighted at how well it worked. Keith

Film? I found a roll of film in my husband's sock drawer, and thought it was time to have it developed, so i took it in and 30mins later, the man told me there was nothing on it!! (no charge). So in those days, we never remembered what we had taken photos of, or even if we had taken any :D I love digital - I can delete as soon as I see what came up, and then I can tweet. (did I get that right?) Theolfa

I think the immediacy of digital has helped me improve my shooting, but I still like the qualities with film, Theolfa.
