What else is in that water tower? It has windows and from this photo seems to have a big entrance. Offices? Tourist spot with views?

Great eye for (even hidden) details, ramon... That one has built in offices around its base. Details as well as nice video you may see here.

Tha guy gives a nice shot at night - though i still had no time to take that.

Around our towns are lots of local sewage plants and local water suppliers. All of that has become pretty efficient so that the towns decided not to join the huge pipe that brings the sewage water to that big plant of the BASF in the north of Ludwigshafen.

I took a lot of images of that one as well and will post that sooner or later ;)

Nice idea! I see from the video link the Wasserturm Mutterstadt is also a clock tower. If one is building the strength members sufficient to hold a huge weight of water high why not enclose it, make it interesting and multiuse? I know of only a few here that are even attractive. This one in Cape Charles done as a regional lighthouse is one of those few. Most are just tanks on legs or big tubular standpipes.

Wasserturm Mutterstadt is also a clock tower

lol... not only that.

Right here i do a small walk through my very own past. That area the "Schifferstadt" water supplies includes has at its eastern most point the Waldsee water supply plant. That is were i grew up and did lots of bike tours with my dad when i was about 10 or 12 yo.

Close to this i'll post the very next images as a small reminiscence to that area.

At that time this power plant was built and often we did a trip to that ferry place opposite of the power plant.

But not only that: Right at this power plant i worked while on my Mannheim University years. And I can tell that the view from the main boiler tower house, the right one, of about 110m is fantastic.

And plus: that guy you can see in that water towers video is the one that built the very first version of that web site of our good old "Turnverein" (Sports club). The 2nd version is the one i made and that one still is available in the "Classic" button on the lower right side.

And... last but not least: Schifferstadt is well know as the twined city of Frederick/MD. There is an old house named "Schifferstadt House". We thought about to visit that one back in 2008. But finally we decided to take the direct way to Front Royal and the Skyline Drive.

What a round... Let me know if some of this sounds confuse. That phrases came right out of my hand - no chance for research for any grammar or that ;)

I see, the Schifferstadt Architectural Museum. Oddly, with all my local roamings over all these years I have never been to Frederick. It is sort of on my list (for decades) but I never seem to get much closer than Rockville. Guess it is the "water magnet" I have. I almost always head to tidal rivers or salt water with a few ventures to mountains just west.

Carmen, feel you informed that this torre contains not only a water basin but also offices in it s lower section.

Even at night that is an eye catcher :)
