The best time for fall colors in the Eastern Sierras in general is the first week in October. I was a week late but Convict Lake is always a pleasure to shoot no matter what time of year.

A wonderful shot, polarizer giving an effect almost like HDR. Tom, you have an outstanding collection, I put instantly a yellow star to it... Greetings, from Germany, Peter

Found your photos after seeing that rahwidodo has you as one of his favorites. Really enjoy that you put some commentary after each...will definitely visit your website...excellent work! SirFin
Great shot, Tom!
This shot has a wonderful painterly quality to it with beautiful colors and a soft feel to it. Maybe that's because it was shot on film instead of digital?
You might enjoy the new 12 shot stitched panorama of Convict Lake in my gallery taken just last Saturday.
