That's really fun:). How did he let you walk around taking these close ups, Palmina?:)

Cheers!

Hi inessa. The fence around the yard is about 8ft high and he was sitting on the top. He just let me walk up to it and snap away, I was quite surprised he let me even though it is to the extent of the zoom. I thought the insessant click click would scare him but it didn't. He even went to sleep. He hasn't come back today as yet, so maybe it was a one off, so I'm glad I saw him,

Thanks again John. It's a pity I couldn't have got his tail feathers in focus too. I guess he/she must've got a bit p'd at this point with me taking photo's and turned his/her back on me!

Hi Palmina - Actually I like the narrow depth of field in this one, with both the head and tail soft - it adds to the quiet, up-close feel of the shot. (And I agree with John, this is a great, unusual angle. Really nice photo!

Lovely shot, Palmina, and I agree with Inga that the narrow depth of field works fine, especially since it focuses our attention on such a fine centre of interest: those wonderful fringe-like feathers in mid-range!

Thanks Marilyn glad you like it. I wasn't quite sure at first about the focus, but I guess it does work like you and inga said. It does draw the eye to the feathers,

Cheers, Palmina
