Greetings Steandeb, The illuminated man gets to see such a variety of colors in the sky. Very nice.
when you are stood motionless, day in day out, on the beach, you would experience many different elements, the times i go and photo him i have captured some great sunsets ,clouds, etc imagine if you stood motionless in one of your beautiful national parks the things you would see,the changes daily,it would be amazing to record photographically dont you tthink?
rich, have a look under my tag, another place, its a photo of the noticeboard on the beach about the statues,it may give you a brief understanding of the purpose of them.
Another great shot of the Illuminated Man! I like his silhouette standing against the darkening sky. Greetings, Anne
steve - this series really is amazing to go through, just to see how both I.M. and your photography have evolved! I've always wondered: do you always photograph the same statue, or are they all different ones?
I went to the sign photo you'd directed Rich to, and saw that the installation was to move to another spot in Nov 2006. Did they decide to leave it there in Liverpool? or was the sign wrong and it will be leaving sometime soon? (And if it ever does move on, will you be commissioning the artist to do one just for you to leave there so you can continue your series? ( and publicize his art! maybe he should do one for you! It would be a gift for all of us, also!) Cheers!
thanks kamaly, there are 100 statues in total, and they are to remain in crosby on the beach for the near future.
