Beautifull shot of an old urban piece, I believe this doesn't work anymore.

Cheers, Alex

Even it would work --> concerning to the sign above it's "ondrinkbaar water" (undrinkable water).

GP-ZG on December 16, 2007

Undrinkable water comes from impumpable water I guess!

Ainars M -2 on December 16, 2007

Well, I thought before than undrinkable means instant dry water powder from tap? :D:D

Cheers, Ainars.

  • Hey Ainars!
  • Long time no see ... but no new pictures at all. Is your camera broken? Or is your account full?
Ainars M -3 on May 15, 2009

Why not see me in my new account cc371 (country code 371)...? :)

And yeah, You are right! At this moment my camera is on repair too, but hopefully I will get it back in next week.

  • Oh, I didn't get this!! And already 31 pages!
  • But why a new name? cc371 looks like a kind of secret service stuff. Do you don't want to be recognized? ;-)
Ainars M -3 on May 15, 2009

Do you don't want to be recognized?

:D And I thought, I am easy to be recognized because I known as regular publisher of kiwie stencils photos, isn't?

If about number of pages... well,, I have many "unpublished" photos saved from last year, which I wished to show. Places, churches and etc. And this year I get lucky chance again go France/Belgium.. so, in addition to already uploaded Dunkerque and Oostende there will be more uploads from Brugge, Gent, Charleroi and Brussels.

  • Well then, I'm loking forward for it.
  • But, I'm a beginner, please explain me what "kiwi stencil" means.
Ainars M -2 on May 17, 2009

.. and I thought than "kiwies" character speaks without words...

I do not know real name of street artist and I think anyway it is not good idea to uncover that artist real name because painting tags, stencils and etc on public streets is illegal. Not every house owner is happy if there on property appear smearing with rough words or ugly drawings.

Situation with "kiwie's" is a little different. Some called drawing character "monster", "dragon" or "green monster" but since this one, we know this character as KIWIE

Kiwie is with cute character, scary, sometimes happy even in love or kidding. Stencil seen only in Riga, however some appearances is fixed out of Riga too. It is drawn only on ownerless, soon-to-be-repaired or otherwise ugly fences or walls. It never appears on fresh repaired objects, but anyway some peoples dislike this appearences and trying to wash out or repaint.

Hunting this character new appearances I count as one of my hobbies, some of them are well hidden like this one which is drawn in heart of city but same time in darkest corner of tunnel, and I should do this until those disappear from face of our City. :) Just a fun.

Thank you very much for your elaborately answer. Now I know what you mean. I think that I saw them also in my country.

Ainars M -2 on May 18, 2009

Really?! Would be very interesting to know (see) if Kiwie artist was visited and "tagged" in other countries too!

I saw in my recent trip trough Belgium, there are quite popular to paint artistic graffiti arts too. But pitty than most of them I saw along my roads and have no extra time to stop and take photos for my personal collection.

In Panoramio is easy to find samples of locals taken photos.

I'll keep my eyes open for the "Kiwies" ...
