Instead of returning via the forested valley from the Little Yoho backcountry campsite, there are two higher route options: 1) the Iceline Trail and 2) the Whaleback Ridge.

The Iceline Trail is a well trodden path of about 11 kms along the base of the Emerald Glacier which you can see across the valley in this photo. The Whaleback Ridge route requires a few extra kilometers, significant elevation gain and a bit of route finding at the far end. Both of these routes are spectacular! I'd highly recommend the higher Whaleback option for some of the finest views on a ridge-walk in the Canadian Rockies!

Très belle vue sur les glaciers. on aperçoit l'extrémité d'un lac, derrière une moraine. Like
