The frescoes of THE MONASTERY MILEŠEVA represent the maximum range of Serbian medieval art and are among the most important painters of that time. MONASTERY MILEŠEVA is the cultural and historical monument of world importance, and her White Angel symbol of painting art.Painting is protected by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.

FRESCO WHITE ANGEL is part of the composition - The three Marys at Christ's tomb in the Church of the Ascension of Christ.

In the sixteenth century over the fresco was painted another fresco, and the White Angel was hidden to the twentieth century, when this church was restored and the top image was removed.

The first satellite transmission of video signals 1963rd between Europe and North America contained a picture of the White Angel from Mileseva Monastery and was the greeting of Europe to America.It was selected for this opportunity because it has become known worldwide as a symbol of peace.
