Maybe you were looking at the pond in Lincoln Park, flyingdutchman???? Lake Michigan is the 5th largest lake in the world (over 1600 miles of shoreline) and can be quite treacherous. Over 3000 ships have been lost to the adverse weather in the last century. It does have it's quiet moments of beauty, however, and you must have seen one of those. :-) Thank you very much for the Like and the visit. I hope you liked Chicago, too!
Best regards, MArlene
Although a retired man I fell in love with Chicago in the CTA/train OHare/Forest Park. And it got worse when I looked up at Marilyn Monroe near the Chicago Tribune Tower and the Wrigley Building. Etcetera.
Warm greetings flyingdutchman
I'm very happy, flyingdutchman, that you loved Chicago, the city that stole my heart over 40 years ago. It does get under your skin and once you have been there, it's hard to stay away. I hope you will visit again one day, but I must warn you... Marilyn has returned to wherever she came from! Thanks for the revisit...
Warm regards, Marlene

Hello Marlène je ne pensai pas qu'un lac puisse donner de telles vagues fusse t-il l'un des plus grand du monde.Une très belle photo en tous cas. Amitiés Marc
Yes Marc, this lake can produce very large waves. The biggest ones are probably up to 35'. Lake Michigan has been the sight of nearly 3000 sunken ships over the years, due to sudden & violent storms. I'm happy you like the photo!
My thanks again, h.aygor, for the YSL. I am truly honored!
