Here, in a photo almost certainly taken at the same time as the one showing the whole aqueduct, we can see a young woman walking along the top of the Awamoko Stream flume. She is holding onto a single strand of 8swg fencing wire (#8 wire) and walking a single 8"wide plank that was the standard and only facility provided on the aqueducts for the racemen to traverse them to inspect them and open and shut the sluice gates.
