Golden fields of amber wave and shimmer in a cool Fall breeze as the setting sun illuminates dramatic clouds above the San Francisco's Bay Area's tallest peak, Mt. Diablo. On many a long trips, Mt. Diablo is the first sign I am getting near home and there is a comfort in sighting it from a distance. Home may still be as much an hour or more away as the peak is much taller than this wide angle shot would lead you to believe. And yes, it's naturally dark at sunset due to the oak trees and shrub that grow naturally on the slopes.
