What is your impression of the place - is it worth of the road?

How strangely beautiful & wild this mountainous terrain but where is any village here? Might this minaret double for an ancient mountain pillar to which priestly pilgrims journeyed for sacred rites when it could serve also as minaret? If so, it would imply a fusion between ancient local rites & an incoming ruling Islam. I merely ask.
