A most vibrant Nudibranch (sea slug) I sometimes encounter when diving around Pender Island. It is about 7cm long.

Hi Derek,

it is really amazing how many varieties of nudibranch exist. This one is a real beauty!

Best wishes, Timo

A very beautiful exemplar. Would be nice to see one sometime, but your water temperatures in Canada ... nothing for me :-) BIGLIKE and best wishes for the weekend --- JENS

Thanks Timo and Jens.
I believe there are just over 70 species of Nudibranchs off the coast here alone. Jens - you would love cold water diving, a bit of work but high reward. And just maybe a bit of pain. Alles Gute, Derek

Stunning nudibranch, DDD (Dear Debonaire Derek)! Looks as it it crawled under a very small bench that was just painted! >>L&F<<

Thank you for your friendly visit! :D Renata

I love your underwater shots, i'm looking at buying another underwater camera.

Derek Holzapfel on December 14, 2011

Thanks Pam; You'll have to bring your new u/w camera down south for some "warm" (ha ha) BC diving. :-) cheers Derek
