Wow, that's a beautiful view, Marilyn! It's really striking, how much it looks like the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I had no idea there were deep canyons like this so far south in Africa.
I see that you are a tireless traveler.
This is a wonderful photo for Google Earth! I can see why Ryan related the landscape to Arizona. It reminds me of the many similarites between central Australia and the Transvaal.
Greetings Marilyn. I think of Namibia as open plains and the population and preserve for the Cheetah. Obviously, the terrain is quite varied, and you did an excellent job of bringing that lesson to me. The depth and shadows are great. Thanks for posting this excellent shot. Cheers,
Thank you, Ryan, Giulio, Ian, and Hank. The Fish River Canyon is an awe-inspiring place, comparable to, yes, the Grand Canyon of the Colorado and also Copper Canyon in Mexico (which I visited in my pre-digital days). I posted one shot long ago, but decided it deserved at least one more from my stock. First I had to crop out a daughter-in-law. I'm delighted to include her in the family, but including her in the photo was a bad idea!
Is this more your idea of Namibia? There's lots of this ... with very wide, gravel roads.
A wonderful view,Marilyn.I'm beginning to feel the need to go away.More looking at such pics.Cheers Daniela
Thanks, Daniela. As you can see, I'm "travelling" again--by looking at some of my vast store of unposted pictures! Cheers, Marilyn
