I was quite amazed to see that the two chicks were seperately looked after by one of the parents.

If the chick looked after by the mother approached the father and the other chick, he pushed it under the water as shown here...

I noticed these coots on 10th October 2011 extremely late to have chicks, I visited several times to see if they would survive. The weather was very kind and I think they will do well.
