at this time of year all i can think of is the next "weekend getaway" to these remote altitudes ;) Thank~you, Ahmet for your review & vote.
have a nice 2012 in Macedonia, from Canada
It's not easy to get to the top but once your there.....amazing!!! This one needs a place at my Fav's and Liked! Thanks for taking me along on this virtual trip...I must admit it's more easy than in real life ;~)
Warm wishes, Erik
You've made my day Erik. These remote locations were my initial reason for submitting to Google Earth through Panoramio. "putting my mark on the planet" ;)
Your praise and virtual companionship on these explorations is highly appreciated.
warm wishes, Stacy
That is beautiful!
Do you know the name of that peak with the slabs?
Thanks randy♥2c : The "Zopkios ridge" IS beautiful... and a little famous in these parts. It's face was once the front cover of the province's phone book.
randys addictive climbing stories group :)
Please scroll map to the NNW - you shall notice the provincial highway that passes this ridge at the foot of these "slabs". This is "Yak" peak - a frequent destination of the more adventurous ;) i've climbed this one twice (1988,2003) ...perhaps cheating ;) by using a narrow tree line between the 2 slabs. In this photo is also "Nak" peak (half tree/snow) and "Thar" peak not all in frame. Behind (two valleys back) is "Guanaco" peak. In the distant left (14.5kms) is "Alpaca" mountain.
very fine mountain scenery with reflection in the water => Like => best regards from Italy, Fab.
