This for me is the iconic structure of the north, not the Angel. When travelling home from a trip south, you know you are nearly home when you see Penshaw monument. I spent many summer evenings sat on the monument in my teenage years. Now I view it in the distance from my bedroom window. Nice picture UncaPaul.
