Wow, well spotted that man!
The leaves and stems look familiar but I know I'd remember if I ever saw the flowers, and I ain't.
Cool stuff Peter
As I sat down on an old tree trunk to rest my weary knee I noticed this flower, and then saw quite a few scattered around. I had not seen them before, but the colour was really striking.
Looked in the Field Guide when I got back and they flower from June to August. Another example of the amazing weather we are having at the moment. Still no frost predicted in the Midlands for the next 5 days.
I hope to check on the Coot chicks again tomorrow.
All the best from England, Peter
I am hearing all sorts of conflicting stories about the weather Peter from cold and wet to unseasonably mild and blue skies.
I am constantly amazed at the diversity of weather in such a small (comparatively) small island.
I shall look out for these in future.
The Orange Hawkweed adds a lot of interest to this photo, Peter! I love these flowers! Best wishes, Anne
