Nice one! I took three photos of lone trees this week ... all flops!!

Thanks, Kevin. Look closely at the sky; it's really a Photoshop flop. The sky was no more than a 3 out of 10, so I completely replaced it with a custom color gradient (yes, the sky is 100% artificial). Unfortunately, I didn't notice until I'd moved on to other photos that it was faintly striped. I think it's a massive .JPG artifact. What I should have done is add a slight amount of noise to the sky to give the .JPG compression something to latch on to.

After that, I was too lazy to go back and fix it. That's one of the things that keeps me from being a better photographer. I settle for "good enough" too easily.

Well you did a fine job with the seem at the grass line. I see the stripe now that you mention it - maybe a little blur effect could smooth it out? If you want to find problems with your own photos, all you have to do is upload them to the internet, and BAM, they'll jump out at you!
