Oh Ian, they are clinging fast to what's left! They seem to be very old, true veteran trees. I like yews, especially when they grow like trees. Really admirable.
Greetings, Mira

They are amazing and true survivors! We have one which is thought to be many thounsands of years old but no one can tell because the stem has decayed away so much. Do you have many ancient trees in Serbia? Ian

Yes Ian, we have lot of ancient trees, mostly oaks. There are old yews too, but I've never seen one as old and big as your yew with a door! We are very proud of our famous endemic tree Pančićeva omorika (Picea omorika). Thanks for the link!
Greetings, Mira

And a very beautiful tree it is too! There are many Serbian spruces in parks and gardens all over the UK. Ian

I am very glad to hear that Ian, thanks! I know many places where it grows in nature, including the place it was discovered for the first time.
