I never knew there was Yellow pines before this trip. I just thought the trees were sick. Allot of them.. :\
Another great shot...love the bits of color mixed in the green. And the road adds to the great composition.
I really want to re-visit this area in the next year because after that I'll be living in Arizona.

The trees in the photo are not "yellow pines". They are Western Larch trees - a deciduous conifer that looses it's needles each fall. The distinct yellow color is the needles turning just before they fall, just as leaves would normally do. Local folks refer to these trees as "Tamarack".
Hey thanks for the heads up. I just recently heard them called Tamarack, but I didnt know about them droping their needles in the fall like broad leaf trees do..
Thanks for the comments. I'm glad it brought back some nice childhood memories. Once again I want to hit this area this coming Fall. The snow has thwarted me the past 2 years..
