Ontario Place, opened in 1971

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Ontario Place is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year! It’s declining attendance, tells me its days are numbered. Unless you have small kids (popular Soak City Waterpark), few people go there now. There is also an Imax Theater, but cinema is dying too.

When it opened in 1971 the park attracted 2.5 million people.

Due its aging appearance and declining attendance levels Ontario Place launched a public request for information and ideas for major renovations to make it more appealing as an entertainment destination.

Recently, there was a talk about Casino opening to save this place.
