Greetings Inessa, The clouds were spectacular in the morning. I knew very early on it was going to be windy because you could see the wave clouds forming at sunrise. It is not calm all that often at Longs Peak, but when you see the wave you know you are in for a blow. It certainly added to the ambiance of the hike.
Just tel lme one thing Rich, were you pursuiting the cloud or it was pursuiting you?...
I have seen it in a few photos, I may say...
Greetings Alex, Very astute observation. This lenticular cloud formed early in the morning and by the time I took this picture 5 hours later, it was still there in the same spot and basically the same size. Usually the cloud will grow into a long wave cloud and not stay the same size. This seemed unusual from past experience. So me and the cloud just kind of stared each other down.
