Excellent photo! Regards, Vadim.
Thanks for your many visits, nice comment and the likes! What a beautiful gallery you have! I enjoyed my whirlwind tour today.
What a beautiful scene, Joyfotos! Love the clouds.
Warmest wishes, Liam
Hi Liam! Good to have you stop round. I am abominably far behind on Pano...but slowly trying to get round to visit everyone! And yes, it is not so unseasonably warm now...to answer your question on another photo. I was supposed to get my car cleaned up for winter...but the light and clouds were just too enticing. I played hooky and went out with the camera instead:)
hi joy - looks like a waterfowl paradise
I think it is Tery. I was excited as they had cleared a path out through the tall grasses towards the lake allowing better access. I read tonight that the Boy Scouts had a big project there Saturday last clearing out buckthorn. I was just driving around looking for some "spotlighted color". I spotted this jumped out of the car and started running before the light moved on:)
Perfect place and image
Good morning Silvy! It is so nice to see you making rounds again. I thought so to...it was my favorite of all the shots. Many thanks for the like and wishes!
Was this recent? No snow yet?
Yes, it was last Thursday. Nos snow yet...but forecast for the next week or so. That's fine with me:) My husband can't wait...he is out clearing his ski hills off:)
I remember the year Ma and I were at the lakes specifically Highway 61 from Two Harbors and up through Split Rock Lighthouse how intense the yellows and ambers were. You really captured this in this series. Fall colors are different in Wi, Minn, and Mich than any where else. We love the dramatic skies and contrast they lend to these pictures. Keep up the good travels while you can because when you get to Ma & Pa's age the ability to do so suddenly stops.
You are right! Highway 61 is beautiful any time of the year and fall is a grand season there. This has been a funny fall here. We had a killing freeze on September 12th. We had just a little intense color...like the earlier posts...and then the wind really blew and we had a bit of rain and all the leaves that had changed fell off. Then temps went back up in the 80's and the trees just sat there looking rather drab. Then just recently when it got cold again we had a bit of color in some stands of trees here and there. This particular day was just gorgeous with that golden light seen occasionally on cloudy days. It really highlighted the golden grasses and the rich dark colors of the trees. I played hooky and went out looking for bits to capture instead of cleaning my car for the winter. Luckily we had a warm sunny day with rather bland light last week and I got the car done:)
I am sorry to hear that you are no longer able to travel. I know how much you have enjoyed it. I can see that coming down the road for us also. This summer I moved my daughter home from Texas and then moved her later in the summer to Boston. I told her in 5 years I am not sure I am going to be able to drive the big pickup loaded with all her stuff cross country. It was a bit nerve wracking this year crossing the Appalachians in rain in Pennsylvania. My husband cannot travel in summertime because of severe heat intolerance and 1000 mile plus trips really get tiring.
It is good to have you making rounds again. I have missed hearing your cheerful comments. Hope all is well with you now!
