Great photo. Is it common to see deer in the wetlands area?

David Soler on October 20, 2008

Thanks markelston. Deers were reintroduced about ten years ago in the Empordà Wetlands Natural Park (Catalonia), as a project to recover the native fauna. Luckily their population has grown and now is quite easy to see them from the several viewpoints. But this is the only wetland area in the catalan coast where deers live, the others are humanized in excess. Greetings. David

Thanks for the info. We did stay in the area for a week in October and cycled to the wetlands area. We were very impressed. There were hundreds of storks, lots of flamingos and the deer did wade across the water. It is one of the best places in Europe I have been to for wildlife.
