In (what we call) the winter the winds are strong and the waves brake hard on the Malecon wall.

The spray then becomes heavy masses of water that reach the middle of the street and would knock you off your feet unless you grab that wall tight.

It is a great time for kids to play with the waves and see who can hold onto the wall without being thrown to the ground.
