kind of reminds of the blackadder scene when lord malchett is surprised that blackadder figured out their top secret and "devious" plan to for the umptieth time do what they always have done (i.e. running like crazy over the trenches and have the men being mauled down by german machine guns ...)

They (the "red revolutionarians")need to put the blame for their political and economic "fiasco" on someone else obviously, the USA...And they need to maintain this lie for the people to continue to believe in it.!

yes indeed, when did panoramio start with censorship? strange. you are right about the changes in politics, i dunno how life has change for the average cuban. the most recent notice i read was about the brother now giving everyone the right to purchase radios and tv etc, of course you would probably need fair amount of money ...

granma is only 8 pages! that is not a lot for the daily national news even though it is from the central political committee. i guess there are no other daily newspapers?

silly that article on matches, and you are right, really the last sentence mentions that the production of candles is down ...

materia prima = raw material

why would anyone buy it for one peso if you can find it for 20 centavos?

perhaps they buy it for 20 centavos and sell it to tourists for 1 convertible peso (1 CUC = ca 25 pesos)? this way they make almost 25 CUP.

another way of making money is to "provide" change for unsuspecting tourists. they give 100 centavos for 1 CUC and thus earned themselves 24 CUP.
