Why is it that the more tropical and beautiful a place is the poverty of the urban inhabitants is more abject? To the left of this snap, a large sewerage pipe discharged directly into the sea. Shoals of tiny fishes were feeding on this effluence , and about a dozen near naked kids were floating hand lines on this stream. It looked like playful sport until I realized that the catches of these minnow sized fish were being carefully collected " DINNER "

If I had known you were in Tahiti I would have come there! In 1969 I was in the French Navy and I could go there! We would meet! LOL! At this time, I had a friend who was in the Navy and went to Tahiti! He remains always over there in our days!

Cheers, Bernard

Although French was the language spoken Bernard, I think your pal could feel very lonely there? all the people I met were poor Polonaises and rich Chinese who seem to own most of the shops?? cheers scally.
