Orion in the Skies over Boston 11-27-07

A wonderful picture! It seems there is also a plane crossing the Orion constellation around M42 :) The light reflections in the sea are mainly green, white, and red, and it remembers me the Italian flag.

Thanks very much Roberto! Yet - that's definitely a jet there in Orion also, probably taking off from the nearby airport. It's interesting to compare that multi-second trail with the one of what must be a prop. plane below it near the tops of the buildings. Because the airport is so close to the city proper, it's pretty close to impossible to get a long exposure shot in Boston without the airplanes showing! Cheers!

This is a great shot! very little distortion, great color rendition. Also lived in Boston for three years and never remember seeing stars so this is very interesting

Thanks very much Drew! My old Canon S3 took some pretty nice night time photos. It could get things the cameras I use now can't begin to catch. And it sure is easy to forget there are stars in the sky from downtown. But believe it or not, several years ago when there was a show visible in the area, I even saw an aurora from the Fan Pier! It was shocking! In those days I never even considered trying a night time photo, though.

So this is how it looks without helicopters Kamalyn. I was just looking a couple of pages of your older photos and found this star!
