Thanks for the YS honor, DeEtte! I was shocked and thrilled when I downloaded the shot. The moon was off to the left of this photo, and I hadn't even noticed the stars at all. This was just to be a tester before I tried to include the moon! Of course none of those even came out well, while in this one, you can even see the fuzzy nebulas. (and of course now if I purposely try to get a better shot, it will be a flop!) Cheers!

Thanks :) and LOL of course here in the city its obviously a whole lot easier to pick out the constellation than in your shot. No thousands of pesky miscellaneous stars, galaxies, or nebulas cluttering up our view! We just keep the sky here to the absolute easy-viewing minimum. (So much that I wasn't even aware of Orion there when I took the shot!)

This is the view from Memorial Drive in Cambridge across the Charles River - so it's a great view where it's pretty easy to stop for a shot. And then it just depends on how willing someone is to stand there in the freezing cold to get a shot like those with all the ice!
