Hello Ruben, and thanks for looking at my photos. I saw some other comments from you mentioning Armi Kuusela. I had a chance to visit her at the Gilarmi Hotel in 1973 when I was 11 years old and attending a C.I.S.V. childrens summer village near Manila. I remember she was very beautiful and friendly. I and my friend Mikko also went to sauna with her husband Gil. I was very sad to hear that he died two years later.

Hi Petteri, I'm very happy to know that you have been to the Philippines 35 years ago. I was still working for a Swedish multi-national firm then. In 1976 a year after Gil died I moved to California. The Gilarmi Hotel by Armi in 1990. I returned to the Philippines for good last year. I plan to visit Muhos sometime next year. I hope you can send me information how I can get there from Helsinski and also places where I can stay. Have you met Nikko, Armi's youngest? He was the only child left in the Philippines. I heard that he also moved out of the country recently. Poor Gil. He is all alone now. I'm trying to locate his resting place so I may pay my last respect. Again, thanks for your beautiful pictures. My e-mail address is:

Hi Ruben, I never met Armi´s and Gil´s children during my short visit to their home. She had hurt her leg after having falling off a horse just before our visit but she did a very good job acting as our hostess and serving us some karelian pastries. Her Finnish sounded to me very much like literary language after all those years living away from Finland.

I´ve never been to Muhos myself but the easiest way getting there is surely by flying from Helsinki to Oulu (there are several flights there everyday). It´s only 30-40 km:s to Muhos from the Oulu airport. If you have time to stay also in Helsinki I´m happy to show you the city. Summer is the best time for a visit!

Gentle, Beautiful, Harmless, Friendly, Helpful, and above all he needs our help not to spoil this beautiful world we all have to live in.

Kind words from you, Maciu Vatu. The small island where these butterflies were is one of my favourite places to jog, feed the squirrels or just wander around. And the summer is coming again with the butterflies. Greetings from Finland!

Terv. Petteri
