Translated into English as near as I can get is "The little shop guarding the bridge accross the river Ddyfrdwy in Llangollen.

Thanks for the translation. I thought it was something like that as 'Y' is the, 'SIOP' is shop (I've seen it on Fish & Chip Siops in Snowdonia), 'GARDIAU' is to guard or protect, 'BONT' is bridge & 'LLANGOLLEN' is rather obvious as it's in Llangollen. Makes interesting reading. Though I, for one, wouldn't like it as part of my address.

I actually work in this shop and I thought I'd tell you GARDIAU does not mean to protect or guard it actually means cards as in greetings cards. so the shope being: YSIOPFACHGARDIAUWRTHYBONTDROSYRAFONDDYFRWDYYNLLANGOLLEN actually translates (I speak fluent Welsh) to: The little card shop by the bridge over the river Dee in Llangollen

(River Dee being Afon Ddyfrdwy)

Hope this helps! Carwyn
