George Scott gingerly walks the bend. One time State 125 champion and head mechanic at the long-gone Ken George Motorcycles. He was a sharp mechanic and welder as well as a champ rider. Gone to the big race meet in the sky now.
1970, amazing I wasnt even in kindy then.... great photos in this series...
We'd just had our first kid. I was into biker lifestyle - which wasn't as heavy in W.A. as it became later. Our mob was a relatively tame bunch anyway. I couldn't handle it now but they were some of the best years of my life.
Great times to remember then Jock....love your photos!
Thank you Caroline. Do you have anything like them? They're great to pore over.
Ya those were the days Jock. I worked in a bike shop twisting wrenches. We had a club some road riders and some offroad. We would alternate weekends in the bush or on the road maybe out of town events, what a life. Thanks for the photos Jock
There you go Carter. I was a sales assistant in a bike shop for a couple years back in the early '70s right at the height of the bike boom. It was bikes morning noon and night..a dream job with lousy pay. I was in a touring club and got sick of the rules, so took a bunch of the members and we did our own unorganised thing, no colors so the fuzz couldn't i.d. us easily. Great times but you can't do it forever with a young family.
Nice shot in B&W--like 1--AnaM
AnaMaria, Thank you! The 'good old days'.. You're sure getting around in my gallery. It's a bit of a mixed bag. I hope you are enjoying it. Best regards, Jock.
