Berner Oberland: Mt. Schreckhorn (left, altitude 4'078 m) and Finsteraarhorn (4'274 m), behind the mountain range of the Schynige-Platte (front right). In the center the remains of the Lower Glacier of Grindelwald

Additional information: View southeast from the hiking trail between Niederhorn and Gemmenalphorn (above Beatenberg). The Finsteraarhorn is more than 30 kilometers away; it is the highest mountain peak in the Berner Oberland.

Between the fotographer's viewpoint (approx. 2'100 m) and the dark mountain range -leading from the Schynige Platte to the left to Mt. Faulhorn - lies the town of Interlaken, about 1'500 m down in the valley between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.
