Great shot! This is the only black & white photo I have chosen among my favourites on Panoramio! The tormented and twisted shape of the old tree is majestic and tragic at the same time! It reminds me somehow the twists that our lives can take from the moment we come to the world!

Very beautiful b&w pic!

Wow thank you MitM thats a real honour if this is the only B/W you have in your favourites. I'm very glad you chose this one as its a personal fave of mine, I love trees and I loved the way it was bent over like a crippled old man struggling to walk. But I love how you see it too, isn't photography great. If I can make someone look at my image and they see something like how you described it, then I have succeeded. I really appreciate you stopping by.

True! The beauty of photography is that each one of us may see different things in the same shot! And the most interesting side of it is to get to know what the other one has seen in it and exchange it with your own vision! I like very much your 'crippled old man struggling to walk' version because it also fits perfectly with this beautiful shot of a noire -type of charm!
