Hank, forgive me but is this mapped correctly? The statue is perpendicular to the shoreline, if it was where it is on the map you would have to look to the right. Maybe this is from the pier?
Thanks Juan. you're absolutely right. I went back to the folder to check, and I had been to an art show at the new pier gallery on Van Brunt Street. I know I walked from there to where I took this picture, but from the aerial photo I cannot tell for sure where there was a bench in June of 2000 when I took it.
Also, as you point out, if you look carefully you see the right side of the Statue which would place me further north, in this area, when I took it.
Ha,ha, for the benefit of Hank and others, our chinese friend was commenting that this shot shows people relaxing and that he/she has no time for that, and I tried to respond that all work is no fun. Glazam was surprised that I could write in chinese (it's actually Babel Fish). Happy and prosperous 2009 to all.
...while on search for IKEA NYC i found this wonderful picture of tha t old lady... very very good work, Hank. And still not corrected to the right place.
Thanks for stopping by, detailist. One must be very patient when participating in Panoramio. Just the same its always fun to greet people when they visit.
Sorry I missed you comments last July, Michael. Somehow I messed up, but I do appreciate the effort you made when visiting.
haha... ®mene and detailist are just two of three folks inside of my head: me, myself and I.
Yes you're right when beeing patient with Pano... i still think its worth to wait ;)
Anyway - i watched some guys at the tip of battery park getting out a fish of 3 ft (1m) out of the Hudson river/east river. Don't know which one is correct at southern most point of manhattan ;)
The meant one is comming soon. Actually i stil work the selected ones for some rows.

Glad I could help, I know now for next time that this is a much better view than from Battery Park.
