Link to an old photo of Robert E. Lee's home during the civil war.
I would have thought of Sir Robert E. Lee as more of a country gentlemen with a large plantation.
He lived here, there and everywhere. Born at Stratford, grew up in Alexandria, married into Arlington House, which at the time was one of the most gaga estates in all of the USA. Then he lived in the house I show here during the civil war and after the war he moved to Lexington. In the mean time he lived in all sorts of places while he was in the army and his family owned about a zillion other places around VA.
Love this photo.
Like! Nice town house. Robert would probably be quite surprised to see how the neighborhood has changed. Regards, Scott.
