The area of the city was inhabited as far back as prehistoric times. The city was founded in the 3rd century BC. The old part
of Trogir has been included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage. Trogir is considered the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic
town in Central Europe.
One of the many special city's features is a written document attesting that in Trogir was opened the first pharmacy in Europe
City Day, called Stivanja, is celebrated on 14 November, as the feast of St. John of Trogir.
