How strange. I just commented on another shot about a good road for a bike and now see that you ride a bike. I hope it is you Skida (??)

I'm looking at this shot again and think you look so familiar. Did you used to visit Ken's Motorcycles in the early 70's?

I visited Kens, Kitsons, Harry Woods and all of them from about 1972 to 1976. The hair used to be higher up the head, though.

Still look very familiar. I used to be engaged to a mechanic in Kens so was always there. We always used to go out on the bikes in a group at the weekend up to Corbridge or onto Alston. He road a Suzi 380 (modified- went like s*** off a shovel!!) the rest were on either Bonevilles or Suzi 750 waterbottles.

I only had a Suzi GT125 in those days and used to "ying, ying" up the hill to drool at the bigger bikes. I think I had more fun trying to get 80mph out of that than easing to highly illegal speeds these days (er .... on private roads only, of course).

Do you know, if you ever out about on your bike and get to Morpeth, I'd love a shot of the main street.

Well there's nothing wrong with that! I must say, you do seem to go for the nice pink paint jobs! (The link led me a bit astray, but never mind, I easily found this by looking under your tags, so no harm done..)Isn't that amazing that Palmina Moore recognized you? Small world indeed! Talking about going for a ride on bikes 'oop north', we got lost on the way to Donnington one year, thinking we were taking a handy short cut. We saw a group of bikes heading somewhere purposefully, and thought we'd follow them as they were obviously going where we wanted to go. Followed them for about 5 miles and they took us.................to someones carport in their front yard. Dohhh!
I'm not going to think too much more about bikes this evening or I shall want to dust off the poor KLR, for want of something better. Since I can't afford any extra 'regos' right now, I shall forget that idea!
Happy riding, Kind regards, Sue

How come this message above popped up as though I'd just said it, I wonder. I thought I said this months ago and I did, but it's nice to see that pink bike again and your happy face, Keith.. How are you both, anyway!?
I must call in and have a look at your new photos later on today, maybe that was why it popped up, to remind me that it's been a while..:D
My very best wishes to you both,
Catch you soon,
Sue

It is a mystery, Sue. You posted it on August 16th and it arrived yesterday! Even the GPO can do better than that! Nice to hear from you.
Best wishes to you and your family and happy new year.
