This is a really excellent dynamic picture. But it looks like the computer generated 3 D buildings in G.E. probably because of contrast and distortion. Have you ever thought of taking a photo like this using a 1/2 silver sphere at height with a zoom behind an aperture hole in a large card (to hide yourself) and post processing it with different contrast settings to make the same effect but make it seamingly more realistic? No complaints about this one though really good.

Get A Silver ball? Go to your Garden Centre The biggger the better. In Paris though there are some balls for doing this sort of thing at the palais royal. West of Les Halles...good fun eh?

Bodillymill, Thanks for the comments. I have worked with lightprobes (spheres) before, but they have their own problems. You can't really get high resolution due to surface defects and that the resolution is not uniform -- pixels representing objects on the far side of the sphere get severely stretched. And you still need multiple exposures to get the part that is directly behind the sphere and where the reflection of the camera occurs in the sphere. But they do avoid any problems with parallax. As to realism, either multiple exposures or a light probe can give equally "realistic" images. I'm taking a more artistic expression and using various projections/transformations to give the mood I want to the photo.

I've done several shots in the Palais Royale -- both in the gardens and in the area designed by Buren. One of my favorite places in Paris!
