At the End of the Road

We called the car, Burgundy Bozo...an old beat-up Dotsun bought for $600 in San Juan and resold for $400 four months later. Waiting for the north swell to hit at Rincon. In 1978, a dirt road leading to the the surf...now, probably not even there.

No, no, we didn't drive into the water (over the cliff)like in the movie. You might like this link if you haven't see it...

Hey Kepani...I always liked this photo, too. Being almost 30 years ago, hard to remember exactly where it was taken, but I think I positioned it correctly on the end of that road you see. We drove down a few deadend roads...looking for waves less crowded. Take care, I bet Rincon has changed since then? ELR

This looks like steps beach,,there are cement steps to the right when you walk in,,there is alot tubulance in the water there,its still there,family has two houses in Rincon,,love it there,,getting too crowded though was a great secret fro the longest time!!!! beautifulest place in the world though!!!!!

Deb115, thanks for the local knowledge! This is one of my favorite photos...we loved Rincon in the late '70s. Could never find "flan" anywhere else as good!

Yep very nice as well indeed. It doesn't really work at full-size (probably because of the scanning and such) but at medium size it's brilliant.

Tal vez la carretera ya no esté ahí, en Rincón se han lemantado grandes y lujosos complejos hoteleros. Otras áreas se han convertido en complejos residenciales de alto costo. Lo único que si les puedo decir que sigue ahí, es nuestro hermoso y maravilloso mar Caribe con sus olas gigantes. Saludos desde Puerto Rico.
