Autumn in Yorkshire

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The old railway bridge is approximately 100M in length and carries both steam and diesel trains several times a day. The deck is in a poor state of repair and badly corroded..The pedestrian pathway has rusted right through and access is prohibited..That's a pity since it would be a good vantage point. Capturing this wintry scene was something of an achievement for me since the light conditions were not conducive to recording the foreground detail. This lovely old railway station is just to right of the picture and out of shot

Hello dear Jim, thanks for your nice comment on my ''Clouds formation'', it was an incredible phenomenon! Sorry to answer you so lately, I have a big delay with panoramio... A beautiful composition with the railway, very pretty place and shot! Gorgeous colors and great use of the light, the autumn mood makes this photo very attractive, a big like 23! Friendly greetings from South, Geneviève

Genevieve-Alexia M~~~~~~Please dear friend, you need never to apologise...I am often very late in responding to mail....You will have far less time to manage your post than myself...I appreciate your feedback whenever it occurs! I'm really glad you enjoyed this photo :)

3Wheels~~~It's beginning to feel a lot like winter Mark, long gone have the balmy days of November..I'm hoping the white stuff stops away, the previous two Christmases were "white-outs" in the wilds of N.Yorks!

To you both I express my thanks for your visit and nice comment!

First, please accept my humble apologies for this late response..My absence is well documented elsewhere in my gallery

roymonotosh~~~I'm most grateful for your appreciation..Such comments are rewarding and hopefully, are an indication that I am getting things right..I have to admit to you that the lighting was radically adjusted in Photoshop. However, the colours are more or less as seen by the lens :) To achieve a better balance between the sky and darker portion, I used the quick selection tool to split the photo and carefully raised the light in the lower part of the picture without affecting the colour and light in the sky..A technique which I often apply to balance out the light in my photos!

ALLWO~~~I appreciate your interesting comments Wolfgang..The above explanation to Roymonotosh helps to explain how I achieved the details in the foreground :)

To you both, I express my sincere thanks for your valuable comments!
