Both sides will look the same at the end of the year. Both sides will look the same when they're green in the spring and summer and neither side will burn hundreds of thousands of acres. This is a political ploy to try to close more land to taxpayers. The cow and calf in the picture don't make beef on poor land.
Guess which side pays taxes so you can get your goverment paycheck, keep our schools open and our roads maintained?

This isn't my photo. I don't know the photographer is, and I haven't been to this place, but I'd guess the private land is to the left.
Both kinds of land pay back to the local government. Private lands pay property taxes. BLM (public lands)and all other federal public lands, generate PILT revenues (payment in lieu of taxes)for the counties in which they are located.
PILT checks are paid to local governments once a year.
