Hi Marilyn it doesn't look very convenient for one of the birds. But a good moment.

Very nice shot :)

Greetings Marilyn, What did you put in the water? The one sea gull looks like he needs a sobriety test to prevent flying under the influence! ;-)

Lovely shot, Marilyn! I especially like the bird on the right taking a bath! Cheers, Anne

Very cute Marilyn!

Thanks all of you: Ed, Daniela, Carsten, Karolina, Rich, Anne, and DeEtte!

Finally I've been editing a lot of photos from my trip so I could get a photo book printed for my family for Christmas. In the process, I found this. The vertical shot I'd taken was bad, but the birds were fun! So I chopped off the dull part, and here are the birds. Glad you enjoyed them!

Thanks, Bruce. Sometimes it's fun to see what we can do with what we've got! Marilyn

I really got a kick out of the one gull that's getting down and dirty (or is it clean? :)

Thanks for the smile Marilyn! :D

They were fun to watch, Pam, but hard to photograph because I kept cutting off parts of birds! But afterwards, when I saw that one gull's position, I smiled, too!

This bird must be an old soldier. So watchful and alert, while all the other birds dip their heads to drink. Lovely shot, Marilyn! :)

It's a long train-of-thought, Ryan, but your comment reminds me: Many years ago when I was teaching at a college in North Carolina, I often backed into a parking place. The lot was visible from the office of the college treasurer, who had served (obviously proudly) in WWII under General Patton. The treasurer noticed and commended my practice--just like what soldiers were supposed to, ready to go into action at a moment's notice! Cheers, Marilyn
