Hi Birgit, Very interesting posture which I have not seen with our Australian Black Swans. Black swans have curled feathers on their wings (which they elevate in a threat display)and it is an ornament for both sexes where the most dominant birds have the most curls. I see the white swans do not possess curled feathers and are rather different.

AAah! I've noticed a lot of differences in the two birds yet the cygnets they look almost identical.
