I have been looking at this picture and notice it was taken in 1969. I was at 3d. Bde., 25th. Inf. Div in the same area in 1966-67. I pisted some pictures a bit northwest of your location. The GE image is not clear, so I am really not sure where the brigade location actually was. Could it have been in the location you have posted? The brigade departed the Central Highlands in 67 or 68, and what became "Engineer Hill" could have been the old location. You might take a look at my postings and see if there is anything you see there you remember as the Engineer Hill location.
I think you are correct about your photos being of what later became Eng. Hill. One of your photos looks like the building that was on top of Eng Hill. When I was there is was HQ for the 937th Eng Grp. When I go to Goggle Earth now it does not show me where I left the photo. But, if you look due east of Plei Kep (SE of where your photos are) you can see an oval shape of lighter green. That is where Eng Hill was. You can still see the perimeter road. The main road out of Eng Hill goes NW towards your location. When I was there your location was a SVN basic training camp. I have a lot of photos of the area. Ron, After reading your message as well as finding an excellent old map of "Engineer Hill" on the Internet, I am sure that is where the 3d. Brigade, 25th. Inf. Div. had been in 66 and 67. I have, therefore moved my location for the pictures to that site. (I had completely forgotten about the SVN Basic Training Camp out there) Unfortunately, the blue dots still show up by Lake Bien. I have sent you a couple of e-mails - one with the web site of the map of the Pleiku area in those days.

Doug: The 3d. Bde. Task Force, 25th. Inf. Div. came from Hawaii and established their command center northeast of Pleiku. The remainder of the Division came over and established itself in the CuChi area notherwest of Saigon. When the 3d. Brigade departed Pleiku and went south to the CuChi area - their base camp at Pleiku became "Engineer Hill". Kent
