I find this photo intersting because this is an area some people think was once a UFO spaceport. If you look at this area from the ground you can make out at least three ramp-style landing strips. All three have been cut by the construction of Interstate 580. If you look down and slightly to the right of the lower burn area, you can see the remnats of one of the runways. If you walk around in this area, there are spots that will cause the hair on your arms and neck to stand on end! Almost creepy!
Just moved to Tracy and I'd love to learn more about these landing strips. I can't quite make out what you're talking about in this photo, but I'd love to see them in person. What's the easiest way to getting to them? And how do you know when you're there?
I cannot help you - just snapped a photo out of a plane window - I do NOT believe they are UFO landing strips, but happy exploring to you all the same!
