Kirby House, Inkpen, Hungerford (NE)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Evidence on the web suggests this impressive property dates from 1733. A quick search shows that in 1972 it was home to the then MP for Newbury, the Rt Hon John Astor MP, and is now the registered office of a property company. Situated as it is on a south-west facing slope it must enjoy pleasant views of Inkpen Hill from where this image was taken. Listed Grade II*. It is seen here as viewed from Combe Gibbet on Inkpen Hill.

A great shot. Absolutely impressive framing for a building. Best wishes - sixten_imgs

Thanks for your comment sixten_imgs. The house is 1.4 kms from where I was so I had to work on the image to get rid of the colour cast.

The distance being so long the quality of the house is even greater. One thing I forgot to mention: if you ever decide to produce jigsaw puzzles out of this photo I'm not buying :)- at least for myself!
